A seven-run third inning by Arkansas State University handed the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff baseball team its fourth series loss Saturday afternoon.
UAPB dropped game two of the three-game weekend series 9-0 to Arkansas State at Tomlinson Stadium in Jonesboro.
Golden Lions starter Brant Voth (0-1) pitched six complete innings. In five of those innings, he held the Red Wolves to one run.
The exception was the third inning, where A-State (5-9) scored seven runs on six hits. First baseman Wil French led off with a walk, then right fielder Cross Jumper doubled. French eventually scored on a balk, while Jumper scored on a sacrifice fly from second baseman Cason Campbell.
The Red Wolves went on to add four RBI hits, including a two-RBI triple by center fielder Asthon Quiller. Voth finally ended the inning by getting Jumper to pop up.

A-State starter Jack Nelson (1-0) held UAPB to four hits in seven innings with seven strikeouts and no walks. Reliever Andrew Allen did not allow a base runner in the final two innings and struck out three hitters.
