LITTLE ROCK — The state Department of Education’s public charter school office received nine applications for new open-enrollment charter schools, including one in Pine Bluff, officials said Wednesday.
Friday was the deadline for application.
The proposed schools are Exalt Academy of Pine Bluff, Academic Leadership Academy School of Health Sciences for Young Men in Little Rock, America’s Charter School in Lincoln, Capitol City Lighthouse Charter School in Little Rock, KidSmart Educational Services in Little Rock, Noble Academy of Impact and Entrepreneurship in Fort Smith, Northwest Arkansas Classical Academy in Bentonville, Premier High School of Little Rock and Quest Middle School of Little Rock.
The state Board of Education will consider the applications during its monthly meeting in November, Department of Education spokeswoman Gayle Morris said.
