FAYETTEVILLE — A $50,000 gift from a Little Rock couple will provide scholarships for students at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville.
The Cathy and Kevin Crass Advance Arkansas Endowed Scholarship will give preference to students who attended high schools in Pulaski or Jefferson counties.
Cathy Crass earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from UA in 1981 and is originally from Little Rock. Her husband grew up in Pine Bluff in Jefferson County. This fall, UA enrolled 1,994 students from Pulaski County and 109 students from Jefferson County, according to university data.
“We raised our two sons in Little Rock and they both graduated from schools in the U of A System,” Cathy Crass said in a statement released by the university. “We see the value of education and are glad we can play a small role in helping students achieve an education with the support of an Advance Arkansas scholarship.”
