A large mirror that fell off of a truck traveling down U.S. highway 63 south of Ridgway Road around 5:30 Thursday evening caused a multi-vehicle accident that sent at least two people to the hospital.
Pine Bluff Police Department Public Information Officer Lt. Joanne Bates said that a vehicle traveling immediately behind the truck stopped suddenly as it tried to avoid hitting the mirror, causing a following vehicle to collide with it.
Bates said that one of the vehicles had six children inside and that relatives arrived on scene to pick them up.
The drivers of both vehicles involved in the collision were transported to Jefferson Regional Medical Center by EASI Ambulance Service, according to Bates.
Bates said that the injuries were reported as not being of a serious nature.
