Three Southeast Arkansas entities are among finalists for the 2017 class of the Arkansas Food Hall of Fame, according to a press release from the Department of Arkansas Heritage:
• Finalists for the Food Hall of Fame category include Rhoda’s Famous Hot Tamales of Lake Village.
• Finalists for the Food-Themed Events include Gillett Coon Supper at Gillett and the World Championship Duck Gumbo Cook-Off at Stuttgart.

A committee chose finalists in four categories and the winners will be announced Tuesday, Feb. 28, at Ron Robinson Theater at Little Rock. The business-casual reception will start at 5:30 p.m., followed by the induction ceremony at 6:15 p.m.
“The Arkansas Food Hall of Fame was launched by the Department of Arkansas Heritage in September to recognize Arkansas’s legendary restaurants, proprietors and food-themed events across the state,” a spokesman said.
