Twenty-two athletes of the Louis Moss Striders Track Club qualified for the Junior Olympics at the USATF Region 9 Championships in Lawrence, Kan., on Monday. The national meet will be July 22-29 in Baltimore on the campus of Morgan State University.
In order to qualify, athletes had to place in the top five of an event for their respective age class. Strider include:

• First-place winners — Michael Johnson, 200 and 400 (26.68 seconds and 62.60); Kyran Simmons, long jump (20 feet, 5.75 inches); Coulaj Eans, long jump (12-2); Sub-Bantam boys 4×400-meter team (6.53.43).
• Second-place winners — Morgan White, 200, (32.97); Eans, 200 and 400 (30.92 and 1:10.31); Armani Scaife, long jump, (10-2); Willie Webster, 80 hurdles (.15); Midget boys 4×100-meter team (52.86); Elesia Moss, 200 hurdles (31.75); Maryma Stewart, long jump (16-8.50); Simmons, 400 (51.36).
