Early voting continues in Jefferson County as residents head to the polls ahead of the upcoming election. Election officials reported that 490 ballots had been cast as of the close of business Tuesday, reflecting steady participation during the opening days of early voting.

Voters are encouraged to take advantage of early period to avoid Election Day lines and ensure their voices are heard. County officials remind voters to bring valid identification.

Early voting, which ends March 2, will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Feb. 23 and 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 2.
