City sets Christmas celebration
The city of Pine Bluff invites the community to attend the Mistletoe Magic Christmas Extravaganza on Dec. 6 in downtown Pine Bluff.
Festivities kick off with the annual Christmas Parade at 5:30 p.m., followed by the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony featuring local vendors, food and activities. Mr. and Mrs. Claus will also make an appearance, according to the city’s Facebook page.
“Bring the whole family for a magical evening filled with holiday cheer, lights, and community spirit,” the post said.
DAV plans virtual job fair

DAV (Disabled American Veterans) and RecruitMilitary will co-host the National Virtual Veterans Career Fair, Nov. 25 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is free to veterans, their spouses, active-duty military personnel and members of the National Guard and Reserve, according to a news release.
More than 67 employers actively seeking the unique talents of America’s veterans will be on-site. Participants can also utilize career counseling and resume assistance, network with fellow veterans and military personnel, and get support with their Department of Veterans Affairs benefits and claims assistance — all at no cost.

Agency to observe Rural Health Day
The Arkansas Rural Health Partnership (ARHP) will join communities across the country in celebrating National Rural Health Day (NRHD) on Thursday.
The partnership is marking the occasion by joining the nationwide #PowerOfRural social media campaign. Community members, partners and stakeholders are encouraged to participate and help highlight rural health’s impact in Arkansas, according to a news release.
“Rural communities play a critical role in the life and vibrancy of our predominantly rural state,” said Mellie Boagni, president and CEO of Arkansas Rural Health Partnership. “We are proud to celebrate National Rural Health Day and honor the deep commitment and sacrifice that our rural health leaders make day in and day out to keep our rural health organizations standing in a season with many storms.”
