Hunting guidebook online

The 2025-26 Arkansas Hunting Guidebook is at the printer and should be showing up in sporting goods stores and license dealers across the state within the next two weeks. Hunters looking to get a sneak peek at the season dates and regulations for this fall’s hunting seasons can download a file directly to their smartphone or home computer at www.agfc.com/guidebooks today, according to a news release.

Here are a few changes for the upcoming fall hunting seasons:

Deer scents and lures using natural deer urine are no longer prohibited in Arkansas.

The upcoming early teal season has been reduced to nine days (Sept. 20-28).

Hunters on Ed Gordon Point Remove WMA no longer have to take a doe before harvesting a buck.

Ed Gordon Point Remove WMA will participate in the early buck-only archery season (Sept. 6-8).

Conway County has been added to the CWD Management Zone as a Tier 2 county.

All WMAs in Conway County no longer have any antler restrictions for legal buck harvest.

Portions of Hot Springs State Forest WMA are now open to public access.

The largest change readers will notice won’t come until Spring of 2026. Instead of two turkey zones with a single set of opening days, turkey season will now have five zones with three different opening days to coordinate with gobbling trends reported by hunters.

2025-26 Deer Hunting Season Opening Days:

Regular Archery — Sept. 27

Alternative Firearms — Oct. 18

Modern Gun — Nov. 8

Special Youth Modern Gun Hunts — Nov. 1-2 and Jan. 3-4

Early Buck-Only Archery Hunt — Sept. 6-8

UAPB Season Ticket Challenge set

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff announced the Alumni Season Ticket Challenge, an initiative inviting UAPB alumni chapters nationwide to rally behind Golden Lion Athletics through friendly competition and support.

This challenge — anchored in the theme “Stand Up. Show Out. Give Back.”– aims to strengthen alumni engagement while generating new revenue for UAPB Athletics, according to a news releasde from the UAPB/AM&N National Alumni Association.

The alumni chapter that purchases the most general admission season ticket packages by Sept. 10 will receive 10 VIP Passes to the Athletic Director’s Touchdown Tent during Homecoming — complete with complimentary food, drinks, and exclusive sideline access.

To be eligible, chapters must purchase a minimum of 15 season ticket packages during the campaign period.

“Our alumni are a cornerstone of Golden Lion Athletics,” said Chris Robinson, vice chancellor for intercollegiate athletics. “This challenge is a unique opportunity for chapters to show their pride while directly impacting the student-athlete experience. Whether you’re attending the games or giving to help others attend, every ticket counts toward something bigger than the game itself.”

Previously purchased season tickets will not apply toward this challenge — but we sincerely appreciate the continued support and commitment of our existing season ticket holders. Your dedication helps fuel Golden Lion Athletics year after year. This campaign simply offers an additional opportunity to support — by purchasing new packages on behalf of your alumni chapter.

Those unable to attend games can still make an impact by donating ticket packages. These tickets will be allocated to the recruitment department to host prospective students and to local youth organizations, helping inspire the next generation of Golden Lions, according to the release.

All participating chapters will receive special recognition on the video board during homecoming.

How to participate:

Purchase a general admission season ticket package at the Alumni Season Ticket Challenge Link: https://www.ticketreturn.com/TRMobile/#/tickets/choose-tickets/choose-section?sid=19103&SeasonPassID=25

Enter your alumni chapter name at checkout.

Spread the word and compete with pride.

Each season ticket purchased supports scholarships, recruiting, travel, wellness, and a championship-caliber experience for student-athletes.
