Simmons to announce earnings

Simmons First National Corp. is scheduled to release second quarter 2025 earnings after the market closing July 17. Management will conduct a live conference call to review this information beginning at 7:30 a.m. July 18, according to a news release.

Interested parties can listen to the call by dialing toll-free 1-844-481-2779 (North America only) and asking for the Simmons First National Corp. conference call, conference ID 10200827.

The call will be available live or in recorded version at simmonsbank.com under the “Investor Relations” tab for at least 60 days following the date of the call.

St. John to give away food

St John AME Church, 1117 W. Pullen St., will give away food boxes to people in need July 12 from 9 a.m. until all food has been distributed.

State IDs are required to receive one box per family. Pickup will be in front of the church on Cherry Street. For safety reasons, recipients are asked to stay in their vehicles and open their trunks, according to a news release.

Sponsors include St. John AME Church’s Soul Food for the Mind, Body, and Spirit Feeding Ministry along with community partners Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

To help support this feeding ministry, financial donations can be mailed to: St. John AME Church-Feeding Ministry, 1117 W. Pullen Ave., Pine Bluff, Ark., 71601, or given electronically through Givelify St John AME Pine Bluff. To volunteer, email Pearl Matlock at pearl1948@sbcglobal.net.

St. John also welcomes the community to join them during worship service at 9:45 a.m. Sundays and Church School immediately following worship. The pastor is the Rev. Charlene N. Boone.

Trinity Village sets luncheon

Trinity Village, 6400 Trinity Drive, will hold a salad luncheon and silent auction at the Lodge Great Hall from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 15.

Proceeds will go toward improvements in Trinity’s medical center. Admission is by donation, according to the flier.

UAPB alumni plan conference

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff/Arkansas Agricultural, Mechanical & Normal College National Alumni Association will hold its annual summer conference Aug. 7-10 at the Westin Hotel in Kansas City, Mo.

This event brings together UAPB/AM&N alumni, university leaders, and the HBCU community for an experience centered on leadership development, networking, and growing legacy, according to a news release.

“The conference theme, ‘Where Are We Growing, Cultivating Leadership, Legacy and Impact’ underscores our commitment to growing our alumni chapters to support the preeminent current and future leaders rooted in the university’s rich history,” according to the release.

The conference will feature:

Inspirational presenters and panel discussions with UAPB luminaries, successful alumni, and executive leaders;

Skill-building workshops focused on strategic leadership, professional development and community engagement;

Structured networking opportunities including a welcome reception and alumni banquet.

Proceeds from registration support the UAPB/AM&N National Alumni Association Scholarship Fund — investing in scholarships for deserving UAPB students who exhibit leadership, academic excellence, and community impact. For details and registration information, visit UAPBAlumni.org.

WBU tells Dean’s list

Williams Baptist University in Walnut Ridge named students to its Dean’s List for the spring 2025 semester. Southeast Arkansas honorees include:

DeWitt: Dekyrah Banister.

Rison: Shermyah Bracey.

The Dean’s List consists of full-time students who achieved at least a 3.5 grade point average, according to a news release.

Locals on Maryland Dean’s List

The University of Maryland Global Campus in Adelphi, Md., named students to the Dean’s List for the spring 2025 term. Area residents recognized were:

Pine Bluff: Joe Blanks.

Sheridan: Ashley Harrington.

To be eligible for the honor, a student must complete at least six credits during the term, earned a grade point average of at least 3.5 for the term, and maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.5 at UMGC, according to a news release.
