SEARK hires sports, media rep

Southeast Arkansas College announced the addition of Brian Donald as its new sports information coordinator and media specialist.

Donald will oversee SEARK’s athletic media coverage while also supporting broader marketing efforts through visual storytelling and content creation, according to a news release.

“Media has always been a part of who I am,” Donald said. “To bring that passion to SEARK, a place that’s investing in the future of this region, is an honor. I’m ready to use everything I’ve learned to spotlight the people and programs that make this college special.”

A lifelong Pine Bluff resident, Donald brings more than 20 years of media production experience to the college, rooted in a family legacy of broadcasting and community storytelling, according to the release.

Donald’s journey in media began as a child under the guidance of his father, a local radio and television figure. He received hands-on training at a young age, learning everything from editing to broadcasting at local radio stations.

“Brian brings a natural talent, strong community roots, and a passion for storytelling that aligns with our vision at SEARK,” said SEARK President Tyrone Jackson. “His ability to connect with audiences and highlight the heart of our college will elevate how we share our story with the world.”

Donald has experience in photography, videography, branding, live production, and strategic media content. He has produced content for schools, political campaigns and local businesses across Arkansas, according to the release.

“SEARK College is excited to welcome Brian Donald as a valued member of the marketing team, contributing to the college’s mission to inform, engage, and inspire the community,” according to the release.

Pitch, Hit & Run coming to Taylor Field

The event is for baseball and softball players ages 7-14. Participants need to arrive at 8:45 a.m. to the field at 1201 East 16th Ave. and wear baseball/softball attire. Participants are asked to bring a glove and bat. There is no cost for participants. The event is expected to end by noon.

Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit & Run (PHR) events provide boys and girls an opportunity to showcase their baseball and softball skills, with the opportunity of earning a chance to attend and compete for a championship during the 2025 MLB World Series.

The Pitch, Hit & Run program consists of a series of movements that are important in baseball and softball. Participants will compete in either the 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, or 13-14 age division, with the age cut-off date Nov. 15. They will be tested, and their measurements will be recorded for points.
