In observance of Constitution Week, Mayor Noel Foster of White Hall signed a proclamation recognizing the week. Pictured are Daughters of the American Revolution member Sharon Wyatt, Foster, and Susan Over, the regent of Pine Bluff-John McAlmont Chapter of DAR. In 1955, DAR petitioned Congress to set aside Sept. 17-23 annually to be dedicated for the observance of Constitution Week. The resolution was later adopted by Congress and signed in to law on Aug. 2, 1956, by President Dwight D. Eisenhower, according to a news release. (Special to The Commercial)
