Easter Bunny drive-thru visit slated

It won’t be excited kids running across the lawn in search of hidden decorative eggs, but the White Hall Chamber of Commerce will hold a drive-thru visit with the Easter Bunny from 10 a.m. until noon Saturday.

The event will take place at the White Hall Community Center, 9801 Dollarway Road. Children up to 10 years of age are welcome, Lydia Scholebo said on behalf of the Chamber.

“The bunny will hand out bags of candy-filled eggs to children … until supplies run out, Scholebo said.

Joe Spadoni, White Hall Chamber president, said that although it’s nothing like the usual event, “we really wanted to do something for the kids.”

Applications sought for scholarships

The White Hall Chamber of Commerce is awarding three $1,000 scholarships to three White Hall High School seniors this year. Any interested White Hall senior can pick up an application from the high school counselor’s office. The application must be completed and postmarked by April 16.

Community service awards event off

The White Hall Chamber of Commerce’s annual Community Service Awards Banquet was canceled. It is usually held in March. It was canceled because of the covid-19 pandemic and state Health Department guidelines that restrict the number of people allowed to gather in one place.
