Blood donations needed for hospitals

Arkansas Blood Institute is experiencing an emergency need for blood donations of all types, according to a news release.

The agency supplies blood to area hospitals.

Due to impending winter weather, donations have been dramatically reduced, during a time when blood drives were already struggling due to covid-related cancellations.

All donations will be tested for covid-19 antibodies to identify potential convalescent plasma donors.
