City Hall and city departments will be closed today because of severe-weather alerts, according to a spokesman with the mayor’s office.

Southeast Arkansas College classes will be conducted virtually today.
UAPB will transition to remote and virtual work assignments, according to a unviersity spokesman.

The Watson Chapel School District will move to virtual/alternative instruction.

Several agencies will be closed in observance of Washington’s Birthday and Daisy Bates Day on Monday:
Pine Bluff City Hall.
Jefferson County Courthouse.
White Hall City Hall.

Watson Chapel School District.
Homegrown by Heroes awards available
The Arkansas Department of Agriculture and Farm Credit Associations of Arkansas are partnering to provide two $1,000 Homegrown by Heroes academic scholarships to military veterans and active military personnel, their spouses, and children who are pursuing degrees in agriculture.
Funding for the scholarships is provided by Farm Credit.
Applications are due March 26 and are available at agriculture.arkansas.gov/arkansas-department-of-agriculture-programs/.
Selection of scholarship recipients will be based on academic achievement, community involvement, extracurricular activities, financial need, and family circumstances.
Preference will be given to Arkansas Homegrown by Heroes members, spouses, and their children, but membership is not required, according to a news release. Details: arkansasgrown.org/homegrown-by-heroes/.
