The District Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Friendship Missionary Baptist Association met Jan. 11 at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church of Dumas.
Attending the meeting were 22 members and guests. With President Sandra Crofford of Southside Missionary Baptist Church of Star City presiding, the session opened with congregational singing of “Redeemed,” after which Pat Wallace of the host church welcomed everyone.
Following a roll call of auxiliaries and minutes of the previous meeting, the offering for April was voted to go to the first quarter goal of the Arkansas State Mission Project, specifically, the Libby Road Baptist Mission of Heber Springs, according to a news release.
An offering to aide hurricane victims in Rose City, Texas, was received and preceded reports on various mission works in Arkansas by James Calhoun of Arkadelphia, according to a news release.
The day’s program was presented by the Rev. Michael Stroh, pastor of Enon Baptist Church near Rison, who gave a testimony of his conversion from Judaism to Christianity.

During the praise and thanksgiving period, Sharron Hocking of Calvary expressed appreciation for various groups and individuals who see to the physical well-being and safety of people.
James Calhoun introduced the Rev. Julius Carter, a pastor, as the morning speaker, after which Mildred Carter sang “He’s All I Need.” Carter’s message was “Three Important Words in the Christian’s Life,” and Matthew 26:41 was his text.
Calvary served the noon meal of soups, sandwiches, and desserts. The April 12 meeting will be with Center MBC of Rowell.
