Pine Bluff/Jefferson County Historical Museum opens exhibit

The Pine Bluff/Jefferson County Historical Museum, 201 E. Fourth Ave., will display quilts and other items in a temporary exhibit through Friday, July 7. The exhibit opened June 8.

“The quilts really are so stunning,” Ramsey Douglas, museum director, said in a news release. “The sheer craftsmanship is worth bragging about. We really do hope that the public will come and enjoy these beautiful works of art.”

The display includes hand stitched quilts and blankets with different styles and patterns on display for viewing in the museum’s meeting room.

“These are beautiful works that convey their own personal histories, beautiful stories in every patch,” she said.

The public is invited to visit the museum which is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays.
