Jefferson County Food Safety reports for the week of 12-18-16


The Arkansas Department of Health regulates the sale of food at establishments which include restaurants, bars, daycares, schools, grocery stores, convenience stores, bed and breakfast facilities, hotels/motels, mobile units and concession stands. Inspections are made unannounced by environmental health specialists.

The following are the results of food safety inspections conducted by the Jefferson County Health Unit:

• Coach’s, 7203 Sheridan Road, White Hall. Date of inspection Dec. 6. Closed at time of inspection.

• Duck Inn, 401 W. Second Ave. Date of inspection Dec. 7. No violations reported.

• Niche’s mobile, 612 S. Nebraska St. Date of inspection Dec. 15. No violations reported.

• Cranford’s White Hall deli, 8503 Dollarway Road, White Hall. Date of inspection Dec. 12. Some hot holding temperatures out of safe temperature range — must be 135 degrees F or above (Not in compliance; corrected on site during inspection.) Opened deli meats should only have a 7 day hold and should be discarded after 7 days (Not in compliance; corrected on site during inspection.) Some floors throughout deli need to be repaired (Not in compliance; repeat violation.)

• Country Kitchen, 4322 Dollarway Road. Date of inspection Dec. 12. Food being stored in refrigerator and walk in freezer should be covered to prevent contamination (Not in compliance; repeat violation; corrected on site during inspection.) Some hot holding temperatures out of safe range (Not in compliance; repeat violation.) Improper thawing methods used (Not in compliance; repeat violation; corrected on site during inspection.) Open windows must have a screen to protect against the entry of pests (Not in compliance; repeat violation; corrected on site during inspection.) Single service containers should not be reused (Not in compliance; repeat violation.) Seal on walk in freezer door needs to be repaired (Not in compliance; repeat violation.) Shelves in back need to be cleaned (Not in compliance; repeat violation.) Trash cans containing food residue should have a lid when not in continuous use (Not in compliance; repeat violation.) Floors and walls need to be cleaned; some flooring needs to be repaired (Not in compliance; repeat violation.) Vent hood needs to be cleaned (Not in compliance; repeat violation.)
