The Arkansas Department of Health regulates the sale of food at establishments which include restaurants, bars, daycares, schools, grocery stores, convenience stores, bed and breakfast facilities, hotels/motels, mobile units and concession stands. Inspections are made unannounced by environmental health specialists.
The following are the results of food safety inspections conducted by the Jefferson County Health Unit:
• Pine Bluff High Basketball Concession, 1000 Beech St. Date of inspection Oct. 26. Need paper towels at hand washing sink (Not in compliance; repeat violation.) Observed several insects on the floor in warewashing area and rodent excreta on floors and counter tops (Not in compliance; repeat violation.) Three compartment sink needs to be cleaned (Not in compliance; repeat violation.) Need test strips to test for sanitizer strength (Not in compliance; repeat violation.) Some cold holding temperatures out of safe range — must be 41 degrees F or below (Not in compliance; repeat violation.) Wiping cloths should be kept in a sanitizer solution between use (Not in compliance; repeat violation.) Single service items should be stored in a way to prevent them from contamination (Not in compliance; repeat violation.) Personal fan needs to be cleaned (Not in compliance; repeat violation.) Floors in dry storage need to be cleaned (Not in compliance; repeat violation.)
