The Arkansas Department of Health regulates the sale of food at establishments which include restaurants, bars, daycares, schools, grocery stores, convenience stores, bed and breakfast facilities, hotels/motels, mobile units and concession stands. Inspections are made unannounced by environmental health specialists.
The following are the results of food safety inspections conducted by the Jefferson County Health Unit:
• Central Baptist Church kitchen, 6107 Dollarway Road. Date of inspection Sept. 13. Containers holding seasonings and mixes should be labeled with common name of food it contains (Not in compliance.) Single service items must be stored to prevent contamination (Not in compliance; repeat violation.) Need test strips to test sanitizer strength (Not in compliance; repeat violation.) Current health permit not posted (Not in compliance; repeat violation.)
• Kuljit Singh, 1802 E. Harding Ave. Date of inspection Sept. 14. Thermometer should be provided in all refrigerators holding TCS foods (Not in compliance.) Single service cups and lids should be stored in their original protective packaging or by other means that protects them from contamination until used (Not in compliance.) Interior of ice machine damaged-needs repaired (Not in compliance.) Three compartment sink needs cleaned (Not in compliance.) Restroom door should be self closing (Not in compliance; repeat violation.)
• Harbor Oaks Golf Club, #1 Harbor Oaks. Date of inspection Sept. 19. Food being stored should be covered to prevent from contamination (Not in compliance; corrected on site during inspection.) Dish racks being used to wash dishes on need to be properly cleaned to sight and touch (Not in compliance; corrected on site during inspection.) Some cold holding temperatures out of safe range — must be 41 degrees F or below (Not in compliance; corrected on site during inspection.) Need date marking on ready to eat food prepared in establishment and held for more than 24 hours (Not in compliance; corrected on site during inspection; repeat violation.) Chemicals should be stored separate from single service items (Not in compliance; corrected on site during inspection.) Seasonings out of their original protective packaging should be labeled with common name of food it contains (Not in compliance; corrected on site during inspection; repeat violation.) Wiping cloths should be kept in a sanitizer solution between use (Not in compliance; corrected on site during inspection.)
