The Arkansas State Highway Commission has approved a bid to resurface seven miles of Arkansas 144 between U.S. 65 and Arkansas 257 near Lake Chicot.
Apac-Mississippi Inc. of Jackson, Mississippi, was awarded the contract at $931,076 for this Chicot County project. Construction is scheduled to begin in two to four weeks, weather permitting. Completion is expected in mid-2016, according to a press release from the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department.
