A Pine Bluff man was arrested Friday after he allegedly robbed an individual at a motel on Dollarway Road on Thursday.
Eric Patton, 19, was taken into custody after police received a tip that he was at an apartment complex on Oliver Road and allegedly said he “took money from the white man” but did not have a gun, Detective Keith Banks said in a probable cause affidavit presented in district court Friday.
According to the affidavit, police were sent to a room at the Sun Bridges Inn at 4600 Dollarway Road at about midnight and spoke to the alleged victims and witnesses.
Banks said in the affidavit that one of the alleged victims said she was sitting in her vehicle parked in front of the room when a male wearing a blue jacket and dark pants approached her with a gun and demanded money. She said she did not have any money and when the suspect went into the room, she ran and hid until the suspect left the area.
According to the affidavit, a second alleged victim said she was in the room when the suspect came into the room with a handgun demanding money. She allegedly said she had $18 in cash and the suspect took that and her cell phone before leaving the area.

Banks said in the affidavit that when Patton was located, he was wearing a blue jacket and dark pants, and had $18 in his possession.
Patton allegedly said he had his hand in the pocket of his jacket and the victim gave him the money.
Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $50,000 bond for Patton on Friday after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with aggravated robbery.
Patton said he would hire his own attorney.
