Bond set in alleged domestic incident involving shot fired

A $50,000 bond was set Monday for a Pine Bluff man who allegedly fired a shot at a car containing a woman Saturday.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors had probable cause to charge Terry Gaynor, 39, with committing a terroristic act.

During the court hearing, Deputy Prosecutor Maxie Kizer said police were sent to the Valero on East Harding Avenue, where the alleged victim reported that Gaynor had followed her vehicle and she made several turns in an attempt to get away but was unsuccessful.

Detective Jacqueline Stevenson said in the probable cause affidavit that the alleged victim said she had a valid order of protection against Gaynor, who allegedly yelled that he was “going to kill her” and fired a shot at her vehicle.

Kizer said Gaynor left the scene and was located later hiding in bushes at a relatives house. A handgun was found in a garbage can at the same address.

Stevenson said that when Gaynor was questioned, he told police that the woman had threatened him and fired a shot at him. He also said he did not shoot at her.

Gaynor was ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim until the case is settled.

He said he would hire his own attorney.
