Jefferson County Road Report

The roads that were repaired and work done by the Jefferson County Road Department are as listed:

May 1

Patching crew: Filled potholes on Donaldson Lane, Todd Lynn Drive, Kenneth Road and Providence Road

Truck driver: Hauled C-ballast from Little Rock to Jefferson County Road Department. Hauled three loads of SB2 to Huntley Trail.

Grader operator: Graded Swan Lake Recreation Road, Reynolds Road, Brockman Road, Chandler Road, Baugh Road, Jacob Road, Bayou Meto Park Road, Wrape Road and Samuel Road. Graded Huntley Trail and spread three loads of SB2 on the road.

Ditching crew: Hauled dirt and rip rap to Camden Cut Off Road to fill in where the ditches had washed out.

Boom mower: Cut weeds and bushes in ditches on Webb Road and Kearney Road.

Mechanic shop: Complete service job was done on a 2001 Chevy pickup 4×4 271. Replaced an oil filter and used six quarts of motor oil, one injector cleaner, replaced two fan belts, two belt tensioner assembly and one idler pulley belt.

May 2

Patching crew: Filled potholes on Farrelly Road in Reydell.

May 4

Patching crew: Filled potholes on Ferda Road, Abernathy Road, Belmont Road and Clemons Road.

Culvert crew: Cleaned out culverts on Dyson Road and Princeton Pike Road. Installed a 12-inch-by-20-inch metal driveway culvert on Kilcrease Road and put a 12-inch-by-4-inch extension on a culvert on Primrose Road and 10 yards of SB2 was used to cover them.

Truck driver: Hauled SB2 from Little Rock to Jefferson County Road Department and hauled 10 yards of SB2 to Kilcrease Road and Primrose Road.

Grader operator: Graded Morgan Road.

Boom mower: Cut right-of-way on NCTR Road.

Mechanic shop: Serviced a 2004 Chevy Impala, replaced the rear disc pads on the brakes and replaced the oil filter, four-and-a-half quarts of motor oil were used.

Sign shop: Marked off Jefferson Parkway for raised pavement markers.

Recycling: Picked up bulk items on Sunset Road, Target Valley Road, Wildcat Drive, North and South Pinewood, Gravel Pit Road, Boys School Road, Peaceful Valley Road, NCTR Road, Sulphur Springs Road, Camden Cut Off Road. Picked up cardboard at Citi Trends and McDonald locations on Blake Street, East Harding Avenue, Olive Street, White Hall and Watson Chapel.

Environmental officer: Checked county roads for illegal dumping and helped get two sites cleaned up, one on NCTR Road and Wilbur West Road.

May 5

Patching crew: Filled potholes on Lee Springs Road, Morgan Road and Rob Roy Road.

Set up crew: Ran magnet over Huntley Trail to pick up spikes and nails.

Grader operator: Graded Swan Lake Recreation Road, Wabbaseka Cemetery Road, Altheimer Cemetery Road, Osborn Road, Celia Road, Reydell Road, Kotchel Road and Florine Road.

Boom mower: Cut weeds and bushes in ditches on Atkins Lake Road and Noble Lake Road. Right-of-way on Bartlett Road.

Recycling: Picked up tires on Louis Ramsey Road and Paper Mill Road and hauled two loads of used tires from county maintenance shop to recycling center on Gravel Pit Road.

May 6

Culvert crew: Cleaned out ditches and worked on the cross drain pipe on Lowman Road and spread ten yards of SB2 and five yards of B-stone to Lowman Road.

Grader operator: Graded Lonoke County Line Road, Dudley Road, Murchison Road, Dover Road and Moorehead Road.

Boom mower: Cut right-of-way on Jefferson Cemetery Road, Woodland Road, Russell Road, Ussery Road, cut weeds and bushes in ditches on Noble Lake Road and Ferda Road.

Sign shop: Put road sign and stop sign back up at Petty Road and Lee Springs Road and Providence Road. Cleaned up park at Sulphur Springs, weed-eated and cleaned grass off of sidewalks and picnic tables.

Recycling: Picked up cardboard at the McDonald locations on Blake Street, Watson Chapel, East Harding, Olive Street and White Hall. Picked up bulk items on Red Oak Lane, Huntley Trail, Clark Road, Providence Road, Bruce Trail and Middle Warren Road. Removed beaver dam on Huntley Trail.

May 7

Patching crew: Filled potholes on Rob Roy Road and Reed Lake Road.

Truck driver: Hauled forty yards of SB2 from Little Rock to Collier Lee Road.

Grader operator: Graded Noble Lake Road, Kindness, Otto Road, Harvey Road, Crumpton Road and Cottonwood Road. Graded Collier Lee Road and spread 40 yards of SB2 on the road.

Boom mower: Cut right-of-way on Tracy Road and Wishbone Farm Drive.

Jefferson County Recylcing Report

Brought in six tire boxes, three newspaper boxes, two plastic boxes and four trash boxes. Brought three trash trailers in, sent three trash trailers out.

Jefferson County brought in 30.43 tons of tires, Get Rid of It/Waste Management brought in 20.36 tons of tires.

Sent out one load of E-Waste, one load of cardboard, one load of newspaper and one load of tire-derived fuel.

Recycling participated in the Business Expo, gave out brochures and book markers on recycling and other items made from recyclable material.

Continued operation of new recylcing facility at the operating hours of Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m; Saturday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
