A Pine Bluff man was shot Monday night and police are asking for help in identifying the persons responsible.
Officer Richard Wegner said in a press release that Christopher Washington, 27, was walking east on 23rd Avenue from Hazel Street when he was approached by six or seven young men and one of them pulled a shotgun on Washington.
A fight began between Washington and the male with the shotgun and Wegner said the other males joined the fight.
He said Washington tried to run and was shot in the right arm and the suspects fled the area.
Washington was taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center by ambulance where he was treated for the gunshot wound and for a dislocated shoulder.
