Jefferson County Road Department and Recycling Report

The roads that were repaired by the Jefferson County Road Department were as follows:

July 18

• Culvert Crew: Cleaned out culverts and cross drain pipe on Samuel Road, Huntley Trail, Hudson Road and Summers Road.

• Truck Drivers: Hauled three loads of SB2 to the Jefferson County Road Department.

• Boom Mower Crew: Cut weeds and grass on Peaceful Valley Road, Sunny Lane, Ty Lane and Harmony Church Road.

• Sign Shop: Four one calls were made for signs that will be put on Stagecoach Road and the one sign on Shingle Mills Road. Worked in the sign shop making “No Littering” signs.

July 19

• Patching Crew: Filled potholes on North Hardin Road and Crooked Creek Road.

July 21

• Bridge Crew: Repaired the rail on the bridge on Beechnut Road.

• Patching Crew: Filled potholes on Swan Lake Recreational Road, NCTR Road, Woodland Road, Stagecoach Road, Ussery Road, Tracy Road, Palomino Road, Pinto Road and Wagon Trace Road.

• Culvert Crew: Cleaned out the cross drain pipe on Sassafras Trail and Huntley Trail.

• Truck Drivers: Hauled three loads of red gravel to Sassafras Trail.

• Grader Operators: Graded Pointer Road, McDonley Road, Sell Davis Road, Cantrell Road, Blackwell Road and Ellison Road. Graded north and south Sassafras Trail and put three loads of red gravel on it. Graded Laura Lane. Graded Deer Haven Road and put two loads of SB2 on the road.

• Ditching Crew: Cleaned out the ditch on Hawkeye Road and Evans Road.

• Boom Mower Crew: Cut grass on Dogwood Road, Curtis Road, Beechnut Road, Sunny Lane and cut right-of-way on Whiteville Road.

• Sign Shop: Took barrels to Shannon Valley Road to mark washout. Fixed signs on Cook Road, Worthen Road and Monk Road. Put road sign up on Marshall Road in Humphrey.

July 22

• Patching Crew: Filled potholes on Dogwood Road, Wilderness Road, Handley Road, Wolf Road, Byrd Road and River Road.

• Set Up Crew: Dug out soft spots to set up Providence Road for future resurfacing project and leveled piles of dirt on McKinley Road.

• Truck Drivers: Hauled 48 yards of SB2 from Little Rock to Garrett Road.

• Grader Operators: Graded German Springs Road, Castro Road, Fernleaf Road, Appian Way and Alford Lane. Graded Garrett Road and spread 48 yards of SB2 on the road.

• Boom Mower Crew: Cut weeds and bushes on Dogwood Road and Jacks Road. Cut right of way on Gaddy Koonce Road and Whiteville Road.

• Tiger Mower: Cut grass in the ditches on Reydell Road.

• Sign Shop: Put “No Littering” signs on Stagecoach Road and trimmed limbs around one sign on Stagecoach Road. Picked up barrels on Whippoorwill Lane. Made a one call for the work to be done on Earl Chadick Road. Took barrels to mark the area that is caving in on Moore Road.

July 23

• Patching Crew: Filled potholes on Gravel Pit Road, Pine Ridge Road, North Ridge Road, Walridge Road, Dan Road, Besly Road, Harvest Drive, Monk Road, Camp Road, Easy Street, Jamestown Drive, Creekview Road and Whippoorwill Lane.

• Culvert Crew: Filled in around the cross drain pipe on Evans Road and Moore Lane with five yards of SB2 where it had washed out.

• Truck Drivers: Hauled three loads of SB2 to Providence Lane.

• Grader Operators: Graded Chandler Road, Mulberry Grove Road, Maynard Road, Archer Road, Wood Road, Watkins Road and Bennett Road. Spread three loads of gravel on Providence Road.

• Boom Mower Crew: Cut grass on Wilson Road, Bearden Road and Pleasant Drive.

• Sign Shop: Put a chevron sign on Stagecoach Road and a road sign on Amerson Drive. Put road sign back up on Payton Road. Picked up barrels on Payton Road and fixed road sign on Margie Road.

July 24

• Truck Drivers: Hauled two loads of SB2 to Olloway Road and hauled three loads of SB2 to Jefferson County Road Department.

• Grader Operators: Spread two loads of SB2 Olloway Road.

• Boom Mower Crew: Cut weeds and brush on St. Raphael Road.

• Tiger Mower: Cut grass on Gibson Road.

All logging companies and construction companies that haul heavy loads over our county roads are required to be bonded in order to use the county roads in Jefferson County. Our environmental officer went to these sites where the different companies were going in and out and took pictures and made reports. He then informed the companies that were involved of the ordinance that requires them to get a bond to use these roads.

Jefferson County Recycling Report

• Brought in seven tire boxes, five cardboard boxes and three trash boxes.

• Brought in three trash trailers. Sent three trash trailers out.

• Jefferson County brought in 39.79 tons of tires. Get Rid of It/Waste Management brought in 44.78 tons of tires.

• Continued operating the collection center near Taylor Field.

• Continued work on the Sulphur Springs Park project.

• Over the past several weeks, we made presentations and/or provided educational materials to the Healing Place Ministries Youth Camp, the Pine Bluff Police Department Basketball Camp and Broadmoor Elementary.
