The Army Corps of Engineers has issued a small craft advisory for the Arkansas River in Arkansas because recent heavy rains in Kansas and Oklahoma have caused flows to rise.
Another round of heavy rains is expected in the Tulsa area Thursday night, which will cause the flows to continue to rise. During the high flows, strong currents and large debris can threaten the safety of pleasure crafts.
All pleasure boaters are urged to stay off the river until flows recede below 70,000 c.f.s. Daily river information can be obtained on the Internet at www.swl-wc.usace.army.mil or the Corps’ mobile app, which can be found in mobile app stores by searching USACE Little Rock.
