The Jefferson County Election Commission will meet at noon Tuesday at the Election Center, 123 Main St. to prepare for the annual school board election Sept. 18. The agenda will include the appointment of poll workers, the assigning of precincts to polling sites and the acceptance of ballot styles. Other commission policies and matters may also be considered.
“What we are going to be doing at the meeting Tuesday includes determining where the polling sites for each precinct will be,” said Will Fox, election coordinator for the Jefferson County Board of Election Commissioners. “School board elections cross city and ward limits so the precincts for school board elections are different than the precincts for other elections.”
