The Jefferson County sheriff’s office has arrested two suspects accused of bringing contraband into the Dub Brassell Adult Detention Center.
Clinton Eugene Tucker was arrested Jan. 24 and Delord Shepard was arrested Monday, according to a news release.
On Jan. 20, investigators with the sheriff’s office Tri-County Drug Task Force and Criminal Investigation Division were made aware of two individuals who introduced contraband into the detention center on two separate occasions Jan. 18, according to the sheriff’s office.
On Jan. 24, investigators apprehended 43-year-old Tucker. Tucker was transported to the Criminal Investigation Division and booked into the detention center on the charges of A.C.A. 5-54-119 Furnishing Prohibited Articles and A.C.A. 5-54-103 Resisting Arrest. Tucker will appear in court for a probable cause hearing at a later date regarding the charges.

On Monday, sheriff’s office investigators arrested Shepard, 33, who was wanted in connection with introducing contraband into the jail.
Shepard was identified as one of two individuals who came to the jail on Jan. 18 and reportedly introduced contraband material into the facility. Shepard was booked into the DBDC on the charge of A.C.A. 5-54-119 Furnishing Prohibited Articles and will appear before court for a probable cause hearing at a later date.
“We are again proud of our investigators’ tenacity in locating and apprehending both of these individuals and their dedication to duty,” according to the release.
Capt. Yohance Brunson, Lt. Dennis Kendall, Sgt. Clayton Cantrell, Investigators Kirsten Garner, Kirsten Pennington, Morgan Carter, Corey Lowery and Marcia Oliver took part in the investigation and apprehension of Tucker, according to the news release.
“The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office considers such criminal acts as a clear and present danger to our detention facilities operations and to the detainees we are called to care for and protect. As such, we will always use every means and resource at our disposal to bring those who threaten that mission to justice.” according to the release.
