Three Arkansas State Troopers were promoted to sergeant Aug. 17 during a meeting of the Arkansas State Police Commission. Two troopers have Southeast Arkansas ties.
According to a news release, Col. Bill Bryant, director of the Arkansas State Police, presented these recommendations:
Corporal Jeff Preston, 43, of Jefferson County, was promoted to sergeant, assigned to Highway Patrol Division, Troop E. He will serve as a post supervisor. Preston is an 18 year veteran of the department.
Corporal David Outlaw, 41, of Drew County, was promoted to the rank of sergeant, assigned to Highway Patrol Division, Troop F. He will serve as a post supervisor. Outlaw is a 10 year veteran of the department.
Corporal Jeremy Roberts, 42, of Faulkner County, was promoted to the rank of sergeant, assigned to the department’s Executive Protection Section. Roberts is a 20 year veteran of the department.
