Airports at DeWitt and Pine Bluff will be among 13 facilities to share more than $3 million in funds from the U.S. Department of Transportation for facility upgrades and improvements.
This funding is supported by the FY14 omnibus appropriations bill, which was signed into law in January. U.S. Senators Mark Pryor and John Boozman, along with Congressmen Rick Crawford and Steve Womack Friday announced the funding to the following sites:
• DeWitt: DeWitt Municipal Airport will receive $45,180 to expand its apron for additional aircraft parking.
• Pine Bluff: Grider Field Municipal Airport will receive $166,230 to fund the second and final phase of the apron rehabilitation construction.
• Berryville: Carroll County Airport will receive $54,000 to rehabilitate the existing runway pavement.

• Brinkley: Brinkley will receive $235,169 for the construction of a portion of an access road and chain-link security fencing at Frank Federer Memorial Airport.
• Carlisle: Carlisle Municipal Airport will receive $135,000 to install a new taxiway lighting system. This project will help enhance safe airfield operations during low visibility conditions.
• Corning: Corning Municipal Airport will receive $49,950 to rehabilitate its apron pavement and fund the design phase of the project.
• El Dorado: South Arkansas Regional at Goodwin Field will receive $598,929 to expand the terminal apron, which will provide additional aircraft parking.
• Fayetteville: Drake Field Airport will receive $31,770 to rehabilitate its apron. This project is needed to maintain the structural integrity of the pavement.
• Flippin: Marion County Regional Airport will receive $314,100 to rehabilitate the existing apron pavement, which has reached the end of its useable life.
• Harrison: Boone County Airport will receive $244,000 to rehabilitate the current taxiway lighting system.
• Hot Springs: Memorial Field Airport will receive $596,663 to expand the aircraft parking apron and construct a taxiway to eliminate confusing airfield geometry near the runway end area.
• Mountain Home: Baxter County will receive $135,000 to crack-seal and seal-coat the parallel taxiway pavement.
• Siloam Springs: Smith Field will receive $427,500 to rehabilitate the existing 1,100 feet of taxiway pavement.
