2 March shooting suspects surrender

Two suspects involved in a March 31 shooting incident on West Short 13th Avenue turned themselves in to the Pine Bluff Police Department Wednesday and were each charged with first degree battery and two counts of a terroristic act.

Darius Johnson and Cordero Aytch, both 21, were involved in an incident in which they along with another suspect who turned himself in Monday, were alleged to have surrounded a vehicle with two men inside and then began to fire into the vehicle.

Pine Bluff Police Department Detective Brad Vilches reported that one of the victims was allegedly shot in the left shoulder during the incident that allegedly began as an argument between one of the victims and his child’s mother.

During a Thursday court hearing Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set bond for Johnson and Aytch at $50,000 each after ruling prosecutors had probable cause to charge each of them with first degree battery and two counts of a terroristic act.

Both men said they would hire their own attorneys and were told to have no contact with the victims and to return to court on Aug. 23.
