Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies Rodney Allen and Kaylon McDaniel have been promoted to captain.
Their promotions went into effect Thursday and are a result of hard work and dedication to the sheriff’s office and the citizens of Jefferson County, according to a news release.
Allen began his career with the sheriff’s office in June 2020 and has been assigned as a deputy with the Civil Division, Uniformed Patrol Division and most recently as an investigator in the Criminal Investigation Division. He will be assigned as chief of security over the W.C. “Dub” Brassell Adult Detention Center.
McDaniel began his career with the sheriff’s office in 2019 and has been assigned as a deputy and lieutenant in the Uniformed Patrol Division, as well as an investigator and lieutenant in the Criminal Investigation Division. In April, McDaniel was chosen to assume command of the Internal Affairs Division.
“We are proud of these two deputies and their continued success within the Sheriff’s office,” the news release reads. “These promotions are not only an example of their hard work and dedication to the sheriff’s office motto: ‘Dedicated to Service.'”
