Two men who died late Thursday night of apparent gunshot wounds may have shot each other, according to the Pine Bluff Police Department. Jefferson County Coroner Chad Kelley identified the victims as Dimarco Wylie, 28, and Cameron Haywood, 26, who were both pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Kim Phillips at 12:48 a.m. and 12:50 a.m, respectively. The bodies were sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office at Little Rock Friday for autopsies.
According to a press release from Pine Bluff Police Lt. David De Foor, officers were dispatched to the Suzanne Apartments at 2123 S. Blake in reference to gunshots in the area and with information that someone had been shot. On arrival, they found two males lying a short distance from each other. Detective Jarrell Johnson, who, with other vice and narcotics detectives, was first on the scene, said in a report that Haywood’s body was found by apartment 15, and Wylie’s body was found next to the trees across from apartment 15.
A report from Officer Janell Canada said that on arriving at the scene, Haywood was found on his back by the stairway with blood coming from his head. A black and silver revolver was laying on the ground next to his left side. Wylie was found face down with a black handgun underneath him.
“It is still early in the investigation, but it appears that the males may have shot each other,” De Foor said in the release.
