One man was killed and two more were injured in a one-vehicle traffic accident on U.S. Highway 65 near Tamo Saturday morning.
A preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police said Michael Laron Verser, 35, of Little Rock was a passenger in a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe that was southbound when the vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway and overturned, ejecting him. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Jefferson County Deputy Coroner Jason Duren at 10:08 a.m. of multiple blunt force trauma.
The driver of the vehicle, Jardun Terry, 32, and a second passenger, Detric Levelle Bryant, 33, both of Little Rock, were injured and taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center by ambulance.
The accident was reported at 8:49 a.m. and Trooper Bob Love reported that the weather was clear and the roadway dry at the time.
The death was the 160th on the state’s highways so far this year, according to the ASP.
